This thread is about the car share scheme we have set up for the conference The Translator as Strategic Partner to help delegates keep down their costs and carbon footprint.

If you're happy posting your details on the Conference forum, please post your itinerary here; if not, simply send me your details and I'll try to put people in touch with each other for the scheme.

Best regards

Michael

Thank you for setting this up -- I hope many will use it Oct 8, 2008

Thank you, Michael, for setting this up. I do hope that many participants will team up to travel to London together. Having decided to visit a distant relative and spend a couple of days in London before and after the conference, it is more convenient for me to travel by train. That, I hope, will also minimise my CO2 output...
Very much look forward to meeting you and lots and lots of colleagues!

London conference 2008 - Car from approx. Amsterdam to Nijmegen (Dusseldorf Weeze) and back Oct 16, 2008

Fellow translators living in the Netherlands,

I have found that even though I live near Schiphol it is more convenient to fly from Dusseldorf Weeze which is actually near Nijmegen (it was 20 euros return and 10 in administration costs; booked only a few days back).... I will be flying on Thursday 20th November at 12:25 and returning from Stansted on Tuesday 25th November at 13:00.

If anyone else books that flight, and you live in the Randstad area.... you are welcome to

In England I am planning on using the public transportation options.... and returning to Stansted from the Oxford area on the Tuesday (or car? from Wallingford).

Thought it was worth telling you, just in case anyone is planning a similar trip!
