I'm about to start teaching a group at the Swedish Tax Authority and would be interested to know if anyone has any experience of ESP books that are particularly relevant to taxation. Otherwise I'm thinking of using Ian Mackenzie's "Financial English" with them - does anyone have any feedback about it?

A few years ago I taught a couple of courses in Banking and Wall Street English and used the Mackenzie book. It was fine for my purpose, but I'm not so sure it's suitable for teaching taxation terminology. This was more about finance, incl. accounting, trade, commerce, investment banking, etc. It also took some time to arrive after ordering, as it was not in stock here in Germany. You may have to develop your own course. Depending on the level of your students, UK tax laws are online, and here are a couple of links (one of 17 million on "UK tax law") to start you off:

Thanks for the feedback - that was pretty much what I suspected about the book... and that I'll end up developing my own material! Fortunately the students do seems to be at a reasonably high level (so I've been told, anyway) - and as someone who's self-employed I'm interested in hearing them explain the Swedish tax system to me!!!
