We don't want the elders to mistreat the younger people
I think this is the idea here, with more context I may change some of the terms. For example 'abuse',...it could be more specific, such as neglect, molest or batter.

We dont want the adults to mistreat the children...like I said some more of the text surrounding this sentence would help alot.

Edward just posted a nearly identical translation as my previous note,...if this is what you use I think he should get the credit as he beat me to it.

Note from asker:
Thanks, my first choice would be elders as the person cited probably meant to say anyone of an older age |
I think, too they mean 'mistreatment' rather than 'abuse' |

: Sí, prefiero a "abuse" que, si no me equivoco, tiene connotaciones sexuales también.

We don't want the young people being mistreated by those who are older than them
How's that? I don't know if young people or children would work better in this context.
Note from asker:
This could work, too..I'm still doing some pondering, thanks. |

We do not want adults abusing children
simple and to the point

powerful - weak ?
More context is needed. Is this really about chronological age, adults vs. children, or is it about "Los grandes y los pequeños." Is it big fish and little fish? You may have to find an appropriate way to say it in English.
Note from asker:
Thanks, Phillip. I believe it's kind of both, gathering from the sociological context and knowledge of the "Dominican" ways. |
