プチ音 vs ボツ音

English to Japanese Tech/Engineering Electronics / Elect Eng
Any idea about how to express these phrases in English? I found that ボツ音 is "popping sound" but not sure what プチ音 would be...static?

snapping noise

It depends on the context, but I guess it is a sort of tiny noise from electric devices, such as audio or record. For example, a record sometimes makes snapping noise (プツッ、プツッ) several times when you play it, it doesn't stop though. I think the author is trying to describe such a noise. Anyway, it is a jargon, I think. (You can't find it in dictionaries)
