The sense of "fuera del Modelo" here seems to be "unique", "different", "hard-to-find", and "non-standard". The term clearly does not have the physical connotation that Liz suggests.
What is unclear is whether "fuera del Modelo" is meant to modify "equipameniento personal" as well as "articulos".
