épaulement à coté du pic

Science
Medical (general)
This is from a design history file pertaining to the use of SAPs in the treatment of liver cancer.
composition chimique.
My translation: B.3.3. Degree of hydrolysis – RMN13 C of the solid
The SAP microspheres, like HepaSphere,™ are non-resorbable particles. Furthermore, they do not dissolve in any solvent which makes it difficult to analyze their chemical structure. We therefore had recourse to one of the only techniques in existence for this type of material which is an RMN analysis of the solid.
Samples of poly(vinyl acetate –co- methyl acrylate), of HepaSphere and of SAP were submitted for analysis. (cf. Reports on RMN of solid in Annex B.3.3.)
The analyses show that the product of the polymerization (poly(vinyl acetate –co- methyl acrylate) was quite well saponified. Nonetheless, it would seem that the saponification of the acetate vinyl structures is not complete (unc.), but for all that near 100%.
So it remains difficult to quantify exactly the rate of saponification.
The analyses also show that the SAP product and HepaSphere are analogous in terms of chemical composition.

shoulder next to the peak
The term "shoulder: is frequently used in analyses of spectra, see for instance http://mitosoc.org/blogs/diagnosis/neuroimaging/ or http://www.physics.berkeley.edu/research/zettl/pdf/237.PRL.8...
Be careful, "RNM 13C" should be translated as "13C MRI" or "13C NMR" (nuclear magnetic resonance with 13C isotope, the 13 should be in superscript).
I hope this helps!

: Also used for plane tickets, "peak of peak" being the most expensive period, then "peak", then "shoulder", and somewhere down the line, "off season".
