Definitions on the ouèbbe vary enormously. There's even a "shock room" where electroshock treatment is administered. I have no medical training, but I imagine that is the last thing anyone needs when they are in a state of shock. So I feel it may be important to include "management" in there.

Some sites say the salle de déchocage is often part of the salle de réveil, crediting "resuscitation room" with some validity, but I can't help wondering if there are (at least) two sorts of salle de déchocage, one for those arriving at emergency in a state of shock (see various types above), and one for patients having undergone surgery.

While, as I say above, it is apparently possible that déchocage can be associated with post-operational trauma, the use of the word "emergency room" in the question and, above all, the following lead me to think it is a procedure carried out upon admission to the emergency dept, if not even before, e.g. at the accident site, in a helicopter, etc.

Améliorer l’orientation et l’accueil des blessés au DÉCHOCAGE du CHRA et préciser le rôle de chaque intervenant : équipe SMUR, permanenciers et RÉGULATEUR et ÉQUIPE DE RÉANIMATION.

En Préhospitalier
- Le médecin SMUR dés que possible annonce au MÉDECIN RÉGULATEUR, l’orientation du ou des blessés sur le DÉCHOCAGE ET LE DÉLAI D’ARRIVÉE au CHRA

Au déchocage
- A l’arrivée le médecin du SMUR fait sa relève au MÉDECIN RÉANIMATEUR et rebranche le patient sur le respirateur du déchocage s’il y a lieu.
- En cas de transfusion massive, il participe à cette dernière avec l’IDE du SMUR.
- En accord avec le MÉDECIN RÉANIMATEUR, il appelle les différents correspondants nécessaires à la prise en charge du patient (radiologue, chirurgien…)
- Il reste à la disposition du médecin réanimateur jusqu’à la fin du déchocage, sauf en cas de sortie primaire

Cas particulier des missions héliportées
- LORSQUE LE DÉCHOCAGE ARRIVE PAR HÉLICO, médicalisé par le médecin de garde héliportée, l’équipe SMUR monte CHERCHER LE PATIENT SUR LA DZ AVEC LE BRANCARD DU DÉCHOCAGE.
- Le médecin de garde héliportée fait sa relève au déchocage aux médecin du SMUR et de réanimation.
- L’ÉQUIPE DU SMUR PARTICIPE AU DÉCHOCAGE pour libérer le médecin de garde héliportée.
- Si les équipes SMUR sont sorties, la régulation prévient l’équipe de réanimation qui va CHERCHER LE PATIENT SUR LA DZ AVEC LE BRANCARD DU DÉCHOCAGE.
