français term

indissociable du prix de la chambre

français vers anglais Autre Tourisme et voyages
"Le petit déjeuner au prix de 10€ est inclus et indissociable du prix de la chambre."
Sentence in a "CONDITIONS GENERALES DE VENTE et REGLEMENT INTERIEUR" of a hotel.
Firstly, the whole concept sounds odd to my ears - is this in anyway a standard disclaimer??
According to the person for whom I'm doing the translation:
"Le client doit savoir ce que coûte en valeur le petit déj. et le distinguer du
prix de la chambre. Bien que inclus dans le prix de la chambre celui ci n'est pas gratuit."
But I'm not sure that this sentence indeed reflects this idea.
Thanks in advance for your help.

breakfast is included (value 10€, non deductible from room rate)

Or maybe "breakfast (value 10€) is included. There is no "room only" rate.

agree Colin Morley (X) : I'm with you on this Emma - reading the questioner's context this is a very concise explanation

Thank you Colin.
agree philgoddard : Except it should be €10, not 10€, and non deductible should have a hyphen.

Yes, thank you Phil. Just for the record, I pay more attention to my work than to my Kudoz suggestions ;-)

inseparable from the price of the room

Perhaps it could be for sales tax reasons? If the breakfast is not taxable but the room charge is? In this case some jurisdictions would require that what is being tax/non-taxed is disclosed, but the hotel doesn't want people ordering one without the other.

is not deductible (from the price if the room)

may not be deducted....
.
not really sure, as your client's explanation is rather muddled to my ears, but what I'm suggesting makes some sense. Ie, the hotel guest can't just pay the price of the room without paying for breakfast as well, even if he foregoes this. The total price for bed and breakfast applies, even if you don't take breakfast!

thanks Claire- 'great minds' think alike :)
agree Noni Gilbert Riley : Yes, this is it. A kind of cousin to "no cash equivalent" disclaimers for prizes on offer.

but cannot be deducted from the price of the room

Perhaps? In case anyone tries to get a reduction claiming that they don't want breakfast?

including a 10€ compulsory breakfast charge

i.e. 'un-opt-outable' but hard to put neatly !

i.e. you can opt out of actually eating their breakfast but you must still pay for it !

neutral philgoddard : This could imply that you have to eat breakfast.

neutral Michele Fauble : Not inaccurate, but not a good way of putting it from a marketing standpoint.

Breakfast (10 euros) is fixed into the price of the room

Hello,

In other words, there is nothing you can do about it, whether you take your breakfast or not!

part of the room rate

Keep it short.

If the client wants to be more emphatic to make the point that the breakfast is paid for whether the guest takes it or not, add something -- anything -- else. Don't try to do it with an adjective.
