Spanish term

colgaba cartel de completo

Spanish to English Other Sports / Fitness / Recreation
A principios del mes esta carrera ya colgaba el cartel de completo.

Entiendo que quiere decir que ya no tomaban más inscripciones para la carrera. Alguna forma natural de decirlo en inglés?

THis is another option, it depends on how formal you want the register to be, which depends on your audience.

Thank you, Maria. :-)
agree Neil Ashby : "filled up", no! The phrasal verb to "fill up" means to fill a container, e.g. my beer glass or the car's petrol/gas tank. "Registration for the event was full." //Commonly used in the UK as well but they are not 100% synonymous. 5 years teaching English.

True, Neil. However, "fill up" is comonly used in US English. Thank you for your confirmation and comment
neutral Rebecca Hendry : I agree with Neil. "Registration was full" works, but "filled up" sounds very odd to my UK-native ears.
