Comment: "I'll probably use "jocalia", but then put the word "jewelry" next to it between parentheses. This is for an art exhibit, so the casual visitor who would recognize "jocalia" would be a rare bird indeed!

I found this dictionary explanation of what it is. Maybe, if it's a publication, it should be kept as "Jocalia", as it is a word that exists in English, albeit an old one.
JOCALIA. Jewels; this term was formerly more properly applied to those ornaments which women, although married, call their own. When these jocalia are not suitable to her degree, they are assets for the payment of debts. 1 Roll. Ab. 911. Vide Paraphernalia.
