Selected

up shit creek (without a paddle)

we'd be up shit creek (without a paddle) or in deep shit

It means to be in a complicated/nasty/difficult predicament, which may fit depend on the rest of your context.

If there were a woman amongst us, everything would go to buggery/the dogs

I have used the terms "buggery" and "the dogs" in order to avoid using a much more colorful, and to some, offensive, alternative starting with "s". Suggests the idea that everything would be ruined if a woman were around.

neutral Daniel Mencher : well, these work, but I find that the vulgarness, if you will, despite its distastefullness, remains a part of the sentiment of the context, so I'm hesitant to completely agree with this answer as it stands

everything would go [to hell / down the drain]

Two options, neither of them literal (mierda = shit), but both convey the message. The first one (would go to hell) is harsher, and the second one more "polite". Good luck!

Everything/It would all go to hel*

"If there were one woman between us, everything/it would all go to hel*." (The missing letter is "l").

Technically, "mierda" means "s**t" (the two missing letters here are "h" and "t", respectively), and both the English and Spanish of that are rather vulgar. However, I opted to say "hel*" instead of "s**t" because in English, "everything is going to hel*" is the common expression. I also opted to say "one woman" instead of "a woman" for "una mujer" because the context seems to suggest that sentiment.

Now, "todo" means "everything" in this case, but "it" works also in the context of the expression. I think either one would do just fine in this instance, so use whichever one you prefer.

Just to clarify, the expression means that a woman coming between these people (presumably men) would spell trouble and everything would be just awful.

Good luck!

You might also say:
\"...everything would go down the tubes.\"
or
\"...everything would go to heck.\"
or
\"...everything would go down the toilet.\"

However, I don\'t think that those three effectively demonstrate the context because the context is indeed quite vulgar, so you might want to stick with what I have in the first part of my answer, or you can also use the following:
\"...everything would go down the shitter.\"
(note: \"shitter\" is a vulgar term for \"toilet\", so it corresponds to the third non-vulgar option while maintaining its vulgar feel)

OOPS!!! BIG MISTAKE!!!

When I told you the missing letters for \"s**t\", I meant \"h\" and \"i\", respectively. I did not mean for the second missing letter to be \"t\"! The word in its entirety is \"shit\". Do NOT use \"shtt\" unless you\'re looking for a way to express the vulgar idea while not actually writing the vulgar term. Sorry about that!!!

Now, when I said that the context suggested \"one woman\" as opposed to \"a woman\", I meant it as in \"one woman among many men\". So, if there were a bunch of woman among these people, it wouldn\'t be a big deal because there are plenty of guys. But if they all want the same one woman, well, then there would be trouble. That\'s how I meant it.
Peer comment(s):

agree Robin Ward : Isn't it "If there were one woman amongst us" rather than "between us"? "Between" suggests something else to me ...

It's "between" if the "us" consists of two people, and "among" if the "us" consists of three or more people. Good point to bring up!!
