This is from a journal article about corticosteroid-induced psychiatric disorders (clinical specificities, incidence, risk factors and treatment).
This word "lignée" is causing me a bit of bother.
It appears in the following context:

Des symptômes d'alarme ont été pressentis: apparition de manifestations anxieuses et/ou dépressives, incluant le risque suicidaire ou de symptômes confusionnels discrets; aggravation des signes d'imprégnation de la lignée maniaque.
My basic understanding is that this means a worsening of mania symptoms but is there more to it than that?
Any ideas would be gratefully received on this grey Friday afternoon.

there are numerous examples of "lignée maniaque" or "lignée dépressive" in the literature where "lignée" is used to refer to the "set" of features which characterise each state. I think this could reasonably be rendered as "syndrome" in EN
