Scope of work:
A CCTV technician will complete a walkthrough of X LOCATION.
The customer is looking to have X new cameras installed, and needs to confirm camera counts and placements.
The walkthrough will confirm camera counts and placements, and survey the environment prior to the installation date.
After the walkthrough is complete the equipment will be ordered, and a separate work order will be issued for the installation of the cameras

: Precisely, and just the opposite, for me "Visite détaillée" doesn't stick to/describes or reflects the context. This is a far too general approach. But quite curiously it seems I am the only reader to think so. Words fail me...

: the term "walkthrough" could be also used for ANY "location" be it an office block, a trading estate, some farm .... or even simply a private residence.// THE POINT is to "walk around the whole of the site/location"

A visite de "chantier" or "terrain" can clearly cover a global area of work. Further, a "chantier" can obviously take place in any private, public, small or huge place. "Terrain" could better work for this case. Not very clear why you took a point off me

Discussion
Some synonym for "survey" could be a good bet.
