French term

rupture de becquet

French to English Tech/Engineering Manufacturing
I'm looking for a translation of this term in a document about problems affecting a beam in a warehouse.

Ayant mis en évidence une continuité des armatures du becquet dans le clavetage, il n’y pas de rupture du becquet et la solidité n’est pas atteinte.

Althea Draper Sep 1, 2021:
At first when you said it was reinforced concrete beams in a roof, I thought that this might be referring to a breakdown of the nibs on the ends of reinforced concrete dapped-end beams (see 1st, 2nd and 3rd refs) but after looking into it, the French refs look more like a lip along the length of the beams (see 4th (page 242), 5th (page 200), 6th refs).

Do you have any photos or more context?
Jane RM (asker) Sep 1, 2021:
they are "poutres support de toiture ". there has been a "rupture de l’extrémité des poutres entrainant un décollement de l’enrobage des armatures sur le nez de la console". I'm struggling with both rupture and becquet.

@ Asker What KIND of 'beam' is this? Are we to assume it is a reinforced concrete beam? A little more of the wider context might make it easier to see what is gong on here.

Although the term involved there doesn't seem immediately relevant to your context, there are also some extra references that might help.
