Dutch term

kap

Dutch to English Tech/Engineering Architecture
The text reads:
"Bij de beoordeling wordt gekeken naar de dakvorm zoals op de bouwtekeningen behorende bij de aanvraag is opgenomen. Deze dakvorm wordt vergeleken met die in de nabije omgeving van het gebouw. Er moet sprake zijn van *een kap. Punt 12 van het EOP definieert "kap" als volgt: een ruimte in een gebouw, die door tenminste een schuin dakschild is afgedekt.*"
I can't get away with translating "kap" with "roof" here, as the definition specifically excludes at least one type of roof, flat roofs, and maybe others I am not aware of.

piched roof

A pitched roof is a roof that slopes downwards, typically in two parts at an angle from a central ridge, but sometimes in one part, from one edge to another. The ‘pitch’ of a roof is its vertical rise divided by its horizontal span and is a measure of its steepness.

I edited the glossary entry.

So, everything is fine.

Good luck!
Peer comment(s):

agree Michael Beijer : since "kap" is defined as "een ruimte in een gebouw, die door tenminste een schuin dakschild is afgedekt", it is probably best to use "pitched roof structure". // makes sense!

Thank you, Michael. This would be a 'kapconstructie' (see joostdevree). The way I understood the question is that the asker wanted to know what you would call a 'non-flat roof' : 'Er moet sprake zijn van *een kap'. The definition was an 'add-on'.
