English term

scrim

English to Dutch Tech/Engineering Textiles / Clothing / Fashion in a patent /textile for packaging/transporting/storing items
I am working on a patent application, from (US) English into (BE) Dutch about a textile for packaging/transporting/storing items. I'm puzzling over what to do with the English term "scrim". I have sometimes seen it left in English, such as:

scrim = scrim
scrim layer = scrimlaag
etc.

Or, try to come up with a correct Dutch term, such as:
• gaasdoek
• vezelvlies
• mazenweefsel
• los geweven katoen/linnen
etc.

Any suggestions would be very welcome!

some context:

"“Scrim” as used herein refers to a very open fabric, such as a netting, used as a support or a backing."

"To avoid scratches or damage, said scrim layer is coated at both sides with Polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The PVC coating also reinforces the scrim. Consequently, the scrim layer can be made of more flexible fibers, increasing the flexibility of the textile."

update It seems some people are also just using the English term, such as in these patents: https://patents.google.com/?q=("scrim")&language=DUTCH&oq=("...
Michael Beijer (asker) May 19, 2022:
Context It's about a system for transporting stuff, where a part of the system is made of a special textile. This textile is made out of several layers, some if these layers being referred to as "scrims".

So far, I have been using the term "gaasweefsel".

Michael Perhaps you could enlighten us as to whether this is about textiles and clothing or about packaging and transportation. Which would be an entirely different ballgame, if you ask me

voorbeeld van term in het Engels laten staan "The carrier layer preferably comprises a scrim, wherein a scrim can be conceived as a network or mesh made from continuous filament products, in particular also yarns or fibers. Such a scrim is preferably made from fibers selected from the group of polyester, glass, cellulose, aramid, polyethylene naphthalate (PEN), or combinations thereof, which materials exhibit relatively stable behavior at elevated temperatures." )
