Dusty is right, pr-quipement means the things that are installed before - see this link on Renault's where they have pre-equipement for phones or similar options

See explanation below...

My colleague may well indeed have got it right, but I just wanted to sound a note of caution: there could be more to this than meets the eye.

If this is a pretty up-market place (as it seems from some of your previous questions), then it would be surprising if they would invest in a permanent full lighting system, since for things like product launches etc., specialist presentation companies will use all manner of fancy special effects etc.

HOWEVER, what IS extremely likely is that they would put in place all the basic infrastructure need to facilitate temporary, ad hoc installations --- I'm thinking of things like high-capacity power-head, maybe even dimmers etc., and things like lighting bars and other suspension equipment, maybe even a certain amount of cabling... In other words, all the simple, basic stuff that could be used by anyone coming in with a hire rig to make life easier / quicker

This sort of arrangement is pretty common in certain areas of the entertainment industry. I'm afraid I can't think of a brilliant, concise term for it, but maybe this will help you get your head round it as just another possibility...

fitted lighting

An extravagant word for something quite simple?
Peer comment(s):

agree Charlie Bavington : sounds reasonable. Possibly "pre-fitted", to emphasis the permanence, i.e. it's not just fitted anew every time there is a need for it?

neutral Tony M : Watch out --- there may be a hidden meaning lurking here!
