Powwow in Buenos Aires: Deep in the land of the Monolinguals.

Friday evening in Buenos Aires. The place and time of the magic meeting was announced long ago by a wise proZetian sage, and most of those summoned managed to arrive, in spite of the crisis, and the depletion of the ozone layer, helped in their quest by some telepathy and by sensuous images of pizza...
They arrived in ones and in twos, form nearby villages and from faraway lands. The meeting place was to be the Tortoni Palace\'s Great Hall, but they found the place already invaded by a horde of monolinguals, so a magic table appeared to seat them all, a table that twisted and turned like an inebriated snake. And no matter how wise their word, they were unable to hear each other.
After some time, a courageous knight and a sorceress were sent to look for a proper meeting place, away from the Monolinguals, and they hit upon a secret cave with a huge and irregular table that was soon covered by Holy Pizza and irrigated by a river of golden beer.
And the wise voices were finally heard, in whispers and in shouts, and clever thoughts were drowned in waves of laughter. And some talked about the golden calf of the goddess Translation, and landslides of golden coins flowed before their amazed eyes through the gates of Trados...
So they spent many a merry hour when at last the time of farewell and parting came for all but the inner circle, who defied the darkness and the poisonous claws of evil remnants from ancient times beyond memory to get to the sancta sanctorum... the place of the Immortals, Muscat wine, yet more pizza, some more beer...
Should we name the names of those full of lore who shared the magic hours disguised among the unaware Monolinguals? The Ones with the Knowledge know them all anyway, and the risk of omitting someone is so great... Let\'s mention only two, the amazing Leonardo, who almost killed his steed riding through the night all the way from Rosarium, hundreds of leagues away, and who still had the strength to carry us, like Alice, through the mirrors, and the one and only Aurora. Why pick her? If you don\'t know her you wouldn\'t believe it, and if you know her... well, you know already...
At long last, old father Time said the party was over and the proZetians got scattered again, some in carriages, some on brooms, some vanishing into thin air... But they shall meet again! Don\'t tell us about crisis! Don\'t cry for us! Just listen carefully and you will get a faint echo of our defiant laughter!

I was almost there! | | |
Hace ya algunas semanas que me pregunto por qué no hacemos un powwow en Madrid. Ahora ya lo sé: nos faltaría un narrador que fuera capaz de contarlo así de bien. En cualquier idioma.

But thy eternal dignity should not fade, Nor lose possession of that art thou ow´st, Nor should Indignity brag thou wander´st in her shade, When ProZ bids are posted and then become thy own.
So long as mind is alert and eyes can see, So long as thou keep in mind thy expertise...
Sorry Will... I owe you royalties. Btw...do you accept \"patacons\"?. Aurora
