Incidentally, I recently discovered that some interesting individual has managed to put the entire contents of one of the Van Dale DutchEnglish dictionaries online (@ afreedictionary.com). Completely illegal of course but quite useful if you don't own it (which I do). I have compared it with my local copy and the data seems to be from the Van Dale Groot woordenboek NederlandsEngels (versie ... I am only talking about the Van Dale, I don't know about the rest.
Versie 2.0, 2002 was, if I am not mistaken, the last version that was also issued on CD (I got them!). Maybe that has something to do with the fact it is online now. (????)

Yeah, I have the 2002 version still too, running happily on Windows 11. Not from the CD, but from an old installer, which I guard with my life. Incidentally, the Dutch-English / English-Dutch versions of https://afreedictionary.com are now gone, offline. All the other languages are still there. No idea what happened. I wonder if someone contacted them (based on my post?), and they took it down just in case.
I'm currently test-driving a monthly subscription to "Van Dale Online professioneel totaal" (https://webwinkel.vandale.nl/online-totaal-maand ), to see if it's worth it to get the annual one. This basically gives me access to all the stuff I already have (via my old installers), but apparently they have added some new stuff, although I have yet to come across a single new term that isn't still available in the old Windows-based software.

I took a look at the source code and noticed the links to all Dutch dictionaries are still present, though out-commented. Perhaps 'they' are planning to revive them later?

So, it seem they commented out (i.e. removed from the website):
• Dutch-English + English-Dutch
• Dutch-French + French-Dutch
• Dutch-German + German-Dutch
As far as I know, all these were taken from Van Dale dictionaries. It therefore looks to me like they were afraid Van Dale would take legal action. I'm sure the data will pop up elsewhere online; once something is out there, it has a way of never going away, no matter how much the copyright holder tries to suppress it. After all, information wants to be free
