Danish term or phrase: arbejdsmiljø
In a text about Denmark's implementation of EU OSH Directives. I am struggling with how to translate this word

Arbejdsmiljø ved svejsning
arbejdsmiljølovgivningen
udsættelse for asbest i arbejdsmiljøet
arbejdsmiljødirektiverne
arbejdsmiljøforhold, sikkerhed og sundhed

For example, I think arbejdsmiljølovgivningen should be OSH legislation, but Arbejdsmiljø ved svejsning should be Working environment during welding. But should this be consistent throughout?

Thanks!

working environment
Explanation:
There is an English version of Arbejdsmiljøloven on the Arbejdstilsynet website (see the links below). They call it the Working Environment Act. An IATE search for 'arbejdsmiljø' also shows similar translations, notably in conventions. Occupational safety and health is not quite the same as the working environment. I wouldn't make such a change but simply stick to the official translation.

workplace

Explanation:
Cosnsitency is certainly a 'counsel of perfection' but sometimes it's just not possible.

Otherwise, working environment is 'Dangish' or 'Scandinavish' and does not tie in with my 'grave studies' and practice of UK employment law, either at bad-tempered litigation or arbitration level.

Arbejdsmiljø ved svejsning : turn around > welding vs. soldering at the workplace.

PS I always advise the surfeit of literary translators of Germanic and Slavonic languages to switch to the niche of ship etc. welding and soldering to earn their crust.

disagree  Charles Ek: Anyone who describes "working environment" as "Danglish" or "Scandinavish" and suggests substituting "workplace" here has no business advising other translators on the matter. https://tinyurl.com/yn6zprmg

neutral  Christopher Schröder: I agree that we don't normally use working environment in the same way but workplace is not a direct replacement. I'm not sure how linking to hits from Denmark proves something isn't Danglish...

neutral  Thomas T. Frost: 'Workplace' is simply a place where you work, whereas 'arbejdsmiljø' means 'the physical and psychological conditions in a workplace, e.g. light, ventilation and workload' (ordnet.dk/ddo/ordbog?query=arbejdsmilj%C3%B8). As for Danglish, see the Discussion
