Focal point wordt niet altijd gebruikt om personen aan te duiden, vaak wordt het gebruikt om een groepje mensen in een bepaalde organisatievorm aan te geven. Het gaat hier om mensen die steun bieden, dus steunpunt lijkt me wel passend.
