Sorgfalt Explanation: I just entered "Sorgfalt" as the translation, but even as a legal term it still means nothing, but "care" or "carefulness", so that's just the best shot that dictionaries give you, but IT DOES NOT FIT in this context, period! The context here are things superimposed on assets. Like the other legal term "distress" which has means "confiscation" (Beschlagnahme) in this sense. So the asker should have given us a little more insight about the meaning of "diligence", because even in English in this case it does not mean simply being "hard-working". It means something else in this FINANCIAL legal context! So give us a synonym of "diligence" in English first + a description of its practical meaning and THEN we can translate it for you without a doubt! Lesson: do YOUR part first before asking!
