English term or phrase: Battery = Batterie or Akku?
It\'s about a device that allows you to transfer images taken with a digital camera onto a television screen. Inside this device is a rechargable battery but there is no mention of the base on which this battery functions, electrochemical or otherwise. I am asking about the first type of battery mentioned, the one that appears to have \"wires\".
---------------------------------
Connect the wires of the (name device) battery into the slot inside the battery compartment at the rear of the (name of the device). Next, insert the CR2025 battery into the remote control.

Many thanks for any clue!

German translation:Akku
Explanation:
I don't agree with everything said so far. Akku and Batterie are used interchangeable. The rules are that all Akkus are also Batterien, but not all Batterien are Akkus, only the rechargeable kind. The use of Akku is somewhat dependand on mood, context and appliacation. For example all cordless tools are Akku-Something.
Here a couple eamples from the web:

Akku

Explanation:
All rechargeable batteries are Akkus in Germany. So the first one with wires is an "Akku".

wiederaufladbare Batterie

Explanation:
A battery is usually a power device that is not reloadable, while an accumulator is a device for storing energy, that is rechargeable. In practice however these finer differentiations have disappeared and the word "Akkumulator" is rarely used, and Akku is used almost exclusively for the charger located in cars for recharging the battery.

"Batterie" would probably be best, because it is simple. Rechargeable battery = wiederaufladbare Batterie would be better, if the longer term fits your document.

Akku

Explanation:
I don't agree that Akku is only used for rechargeable batteries in cars - in fact, in German (in Germany) I've never heard any other term than "(Auto-)batterie" for it...

But that doesn't help you much, since your problem has nothing to do with cars, right? - In my opinion, every rechargeable battery is an "Akku" in German, all others are batteries. And it doesn't matter at all on how the charging is done (electrochemical or otherwise).
