Italian to English translations [PRO]
Law/Patents - Law (general) / term used in court hearing
Italian term or phrase: nuovo ruolo
Sospende il procedimento a nuovo ruolo. Translation regards legal case. At a guess, I'd say something like "suspends proceedings for a future hearing" ... but I'm not sure.
Thanks for any help

Explanation:
I find the previous weblinked answer wholly convincing.

Again on ProZ, we are not told whether the case is civil, criminal or a court martial, the terminology often sending the answer different ways, though an adjournment vs. a stay will generally work in all 3 cases.

In English law, a case can also be 'adjourned' into judge's chambers or, with a civil or criminal jury, to an industrial or coastal etc. site for reconstruction of events.

Example sentence(s):
  • (Scots law) ...cases which parties have agreed should be adjourned will have a new trial diet assigned and ...the sheriff clerk will intimate on the *court rolls* all cases which requires to call at the intermediate diet
  • (Scots law) Trial Diet: The Trial Diet is the hearing at which the evidence from both sides is heard and the Judge decides whether you are guilty or not guilty.
