narrowing of subsumed rule (applied to the facts) Explanation: As Craig mentions, subsumption is very unusual as a noun in BrE at least, except for opaque theories in jurisprudence. What Craig doesn't mention is that the verbal forms of subsumed or subsuming, for instance of facts into the case in point, are far commoner / more common for us 'commoners'. Example sentence(s):
