German term or phrase: Brunnenannahme
Hi all,

Hopefully you can help me out with the term "Brunnenannahme" below. I found very little online unfortunately. See below for context:

Das Projektteam hat im Laufe des letzten Jahres die Brunnenannahme für unser [Marke] Mineralwasser umgebaut.
Vier sogenannte „Wasseraufbereitungsstraßen“ konnten durch den Umbau außer Betrieb genommen werden.

Thanks,

Gavin

Seems like this is part of the water treatment & bottling plant where well water arrives.

source extraction

Explanation:

We have upgraded the source extraction technology for our [brand name] mineral water.

I think the repetition of 'water' in the translated sentence should be avoided for stylistic reasons.

https://nbws.org/
A bottler MAY NOT transport the source water any other way or it immediately invalidates the ability to market and sell that water as a natural or spring water product. Water handled this way then falls under Prepared Water category and Reverse Osmosis and Ozone becomes the requirement. There are many other requirements for source extraction which we will cover in a separate article.

spring intake works

Explanation:
Is there any reason to think this is not simply the structure that captures well water?

If you run a search with Wasserannahme you get plenty of such things, e.g. "Aktuell sind auf dem Wasserhaltungsstandort Zollverein noch fünf konzentrierte Wassertrogsperren verbaut. Die Wasserannahme am Stinnesdamm im Verbindungsberg Nordstern- Zollverein soll im weiteren Rückzug von diesem Standort beendet und der Damm geöffnet werden".

"The flow varies from 6 lps in the dry season to 50 lps in the rainy season. Water from the spring intake works is taken by a short canal and 10" cast iron pipeline to the treatment plant."

"The spring has undergone a series of improvements over the years, and there is
now a hypochlorite dosing plant at the spring intake works. [ ... ] Although the Braemar water is understood to be slightly acidic, no evidence of deterioration to the concrete spring intake structure was visible."
