"Ich wurde sogar mit Geschenken bedacht und bekam einen lustigen Ausgußkork, einen modernen Gemüsehobel und ein reizendes Sachet (Taschentuchbehälter) mit einem rosa Seidentücherl. Ich hätte mich zwar gut ohne all das behelfen können, aber genommen habe ich’s doch."

Is Ausgußkork equivalent to an Ausgußstöpsel (sink stopper/plug) here? That is my inclination, although I can't honestly say I've seen one that's even remotely "lustig" or one made of cork either. "Kork" makes me think of a (wine) bottle stopper...
