wooden? Explanation: from fusta, wood. Would or should I say "wood" this not make sense here? A wooden sound? It seems to be describing something rather negative. |

dense Explanation: I like Anne's "wooden", but applied to a performer it implies a cetain stiffness in their technique, that may, or may not, be implied here. I think the reviewer is referring to the quality of the sound of the piano, as much as what the performer got out of it. So I think density is implied by the references to wood. "Thick sound" might be another possibility. |
