En un expediente académico español de un estudiante del diplomado en ciencias empresariales, aparecen los siguientes comentarios junto a las calificaciones:

Aprobado, notable, sobresaliente, reconocimiento.

Las últimas tres asignaturas que aparecen:

"Curso intensivo de italiano (Nivel inicial) - 3 créditos - 1. convocatoria - Notable (no aparece calificación numérica) - Tipo de curso: libre elección
Actividades deportivas (curso 2016-2017) - 5 créditos - 1. convocatoria - **Reconocimiento**(no aparece calificación numérica) - Tipo de curso: libre elección
Curso de italiano (Nivel B2) - 6 créditos - julio - **Reconocimiento** (no aparece calificación numérica) - Tipo de curso: libre elección"

Todas las demás asignaturas tienen una calificación numérica. Pienso que no se trata de convalidación de créditos o asignaturas porque hay una columna específica para ello y en todas las asignaturas cursadas dice "N".

La traducción es para los Estados Unidos.

Hi Yvonne, this is really common in Spanish universities. They give a certain number of ECTS credits for activities like sports, language classes, volunteering, etc. Most of these are not graded, so they won't have a "calificación".

For example:
https://www.uab.cat/web/studies/undergraduate/undergraduate-...

I actually have 6 ECTS myself on my UB transcript that look like this, awarding for completing an official Catalan course. I got an 8, but that grade was not transferred to my transcript, it just shows up as "reconocimiento".

I would translate it as something like "Credits Earned" or "Credits Awarded" and if you have the space: (no grade).

You could also do a * and a translator's note at the bottom explaining that these credits were awarded for extracurricular activities and don't have a grade, if you don't have space.
