Spanish term or phrase: Olla
Hello! I am translating an news article from Colombia that uses the word "olla" in the context of "Todo policía sabe dónde queda la ‘olla’, lo que pasa es que la ‘olla’ compra al policía”

I understand that it means an area where they are selling drugs etc, whether thats a house or a neighborhood.

What would be a good translation? Slum? Drug Den? If I cant find a word in English I'll put an explanation, but would love any ideas.

English translation:the hood
Explanation:
'La olla' is what Colombians call the less fortunate neighborhoods affected by gang violence and poverty.
Lo que pasa es que Marta vive en la olla y le queda difícil salir a veces – The thing is that Marta lives in the bad part of town so going out is hard for her sometimes

This says 'drug-dealing hotspots', but I think my suggestion works better in this colloquial context:

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thank you! Because of the tone of what I was translating and the racial use of hood I went with something else, but this helped me put a finger on what I was looking for!
